About Dr. Carole Orem

Based in South Portland, Maine, Dr. Carole Orem addresses trauma-related issues practicing depth psychology. At her practice, Dr. Carole Orem employs specific trauma resolution techniques to treat patients.
Dr. Orem uses EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), a technique that allows the brain to process unpleasant memories appropriately. She also uses the Internal Family Systems model, which helps patients cope with all parts of their psyche. Parts that carry shame and anger, fear, or sadness among many others.
In her career, Dr. Orem has excelled in several previous endeavors. She served as a project manager for a real estate construction company, an industrial engineer for Eli Lilly, and a marketing representative for IBM. Later, Dr. Carole Orem became a sales representative for medical companies in Maine. Her sales experience also benefited media companies in Maine and Washington, DC.
Initially, Dr. Orem earned a BS in industrial engineering from Purdue University and obtained an MBA from Creighton University. Dr. Carole Orem began her current career with a PhD in clinical psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. She enjoys painting, gardening, and interior design in her spare time. Dr. Orem also serves as an elephant sanctuary advocate and is active in animal rescue.
